Durian Madness

durians

Twas’ the season for durians, durians, durians….I see, I smell, I wallop….hehehehe. My company had a durian party last week. I gorged myself silly with the numerous durians planted in front of me. Unlike the cow which have 4 stomachs, us humans only have one miserable stomach to contend with hence, I had to be selective on what to feed my stomach lest I get heart burn and sky high cholestrol. LOL

In addition to durians, we feted on lychees, rambutans, mangosteens, fried meehoon, vege curry, cakes etc…gees, we were practically having a feast! Yum yum……I so love durians. I managed to grab some of the premium durians grade “Mountain Cat King” (translated from canto “Mau San Wong”) which was huge with a thick and creamy texture! Walowei, eating 2 ulas is enough to make me jelak and I just stare at the durian that I’m holding. Some of my colleagues gave me some odd stares and I gobble it before the flies came and share my grub. The thing about durians is the burping and gas release that comes after the gorging session, which can be pretty unpleasant for the non-eaters or durian haters. Anyhow, it is definitely not advisable to go gym or any confined spaces after a durian session.

FineI was unfortunate enough to have encountered durian burping and farting during gx classes in the gym and mind you, most of it happened in uptown, which resembled a prison cell compared to the other outlets, hence the smell was trapped in the enclosed area where it dispersed was as a silent killer to the seemingly unawared victims. Hahahahaha…..I can laugh now but at that point in time, frankly, I nearly fainted!!!

duriansLast sat, I tagged along to one of LM’s company vendors durian party. Gees, it was pouring cats and dogs and those poor flers were running back and forth carrying the durians! Of course I kept waving to them to serve us the durians since we didn’t have any lunch while peeling some rambutans and longans in between. However, the quality is kinda compromised here as some of the urm, ‘waiters’ gave some really bad choices, ranging from over-ripe durians to the not as yet ripe durians….which explains why I kept throwing them and continuously wave to them to bring us more. I’m not a fussy eater per se but seriously, those were rather crap durians, which borders on the variety that they throw to you in the “All Eat All You Can” for RM10. Thanks but no thanks.

I did managed to stuff myself on quite a bit of the durians and dragged myself to BP since I had earlier promised Shadow on showing up. I was terrified of unintentionally burping in class but luckily, only 1 burp managed to escape in the entire class!! Hahahahaha….lucky me. Of course, after the class, when Shadow asked whether I smelled durian in the class, I couldn’t stop laughing…..*Guffaw*

packed duriansOn Sun, went to eat durian (again!), this time with Nina as promised the last week before. By now, I was suffering from a mild sore throat but still went ahead. Although, I pretty much restrained myself from gorging too much, in part due to the continuous eating leading to a lower level of satisfaction I guess. Nevertheless, the durians which veered towards bittersweet was good and definitely made up for the bad quality of the previous day! I will probably refrain from further durian eating for the time being to allow my cholestrol level and tummy to lower down….heheheehe….I can’t imagine the number of classes that I probably need to do to work out all these excess calories consumed…..sigh
